Beth is struggling to find a balance between raising three children and a photography career. At a high school reunion, she takes her eyes off three-year-old Ben, and he mysteriously disappears. A frantic search for him proves to be futile. Over time, Beth learns to cope with the tragedy. Nine years later, however, a boy the same age as Ben would have been turns up at her doorstep.
